About Chearanai Tina Field

Chearanai (Tina) Ratanavaraha Field, has been appointed as Honorary Thai Consul for Brisbane, Queensland, in June, 2024.

Chearanai Tina Field, born as Chearanai Ratanavaraha on October 23, 1957 was raised and educated in Bangkok, Thailand. She migrated to Australia in 1983 and became famous as a Thai-Australian restauranteur, and a highly esteemed businesswoman. In 1996, she won the “Executive Woman of the Year” from the Women’s Network Australia, and in 2019, she received the prestigious "Lifetime Achievers Award" from Restaurant and Catering Australia. Her many years in business have enabled Tina to develop high level skills not only in hospitality management but also in the ability to think and respond to business-critical issues quickly, respectfully and with utmost discretion. 

Tina has been a significant member of the Thai community in Queensland, since 1986. Her influence and leadership extended to a five-year term as the President of the Thai-Australian Association of Queensland (2017 - 2022) as well as having served as the President of Brisbane's annual ‘Thai Food Festival’ (2017 - 2019), a celebration that promotes Thai food and culture in the region.

Committed to giving back both in her homeland and her adopted home, Tina has directed substantial financial support to various charitable causes in Thailand and Australia. Her philanthropic efforts include funding the construction of a new temple, aiding flood victims, supporting charitable organizations such as the Princess Chulabhorn Foundation, and backing essential programs for underprivileged women in critical need.

Although Tina spent most of her life in the restaurant industry, she has had opportunities to share her insights on various platforms. She addressed topics such as entrepreneurship, business strategies, and the valuable contributions of women from ethnic communities to Australian business. With specific experience as a board and committee member of several local business and community organizations in Queensland, she has also cultivated excellent, long-standing connections with decision-makers and influencers in both the government and business sectors.

Tina has been a major supporter of Wat Thai Buddharam, Queensland’s largest Thai Buddhist temple, both spiritually and financially. She now plays a significant role as the Project Fundraising Operations Manager in the Wat Thai Buddharam’s efforts to build a new Navamintharachutit Ordination Hall. (Donate Here)

Tina is married to Ian Field, the founder of Q Automotive Group, and they reside together in Brisbane. She has one biological daughter, Mandy, who now manages the Thai Orchid Springwood (family restaurant) and an extended Australian family who are all successful in different ways.

Tina is honoured to have been appointed by King Maha Vajiralongkorn for the role of Honorary Consul of Thailand in Brisbane for Queensland.
